Du passé, From the past!

This week I found an old comic that I wrote back in the 90's. I think that this comic eventually got me my first job in the comics industry. I wrote and illustrated Soul Slayer for Void comics in 1996. I also found the text explaining the scenario. It's cool to see that my motivations haven't changed, although I like to think that my drawing got a little better, hehe!

It's cool to see that even back then, I was experimenting with collage and different mediums. This book is profoundly anchored in the 1970 underground mouvement. It's raw and straight to the point, although a little confusing at times. Eventually I think that I would really like to publish that book, here are the 5 first pages.

Cette semaine j'ai retrouvé une vieille BD que j'avais écrite dans les années 90. En fait, je pense que cette BD m'a permis d'obtenir mon premier job avec Void Comics. J'ai même retrouvé le texte qui explique le scénario. C'est le fun de voir que côté scénario, mes motivations n'ont pas vraiment changé. Le scénario est très dense et confus par moment, mais mon style d'écriture est quand même resté pareil.  Par contre, j'aimerais penser que mon dessin s'est amélioré ! Hé hé !
Mais encore là, je pense que rien n'a vraiment changé. Il y a du collage et beaucoup de métissage au niveau des mediums utilisés.  Ce que j'aime de ce scénario c'est qu'il est cru, profondément influencé par le mouvement underground des comics américains des années 70.  Ce serait vraiment cool de pouvoir éventuellement publier ce livre ; )
